Mixed Media Cardboard with Octavia Best Friends

sharing today a new project for Polkadoodles. The focus of this project is the stamp Octavia Best friends.

I started by printing her out and then coloring her with Copic alcohol markers. The pens I used can you find further down in this post. Then, I ripped the edges and chalked them with Distress ink. After that, I started to work on the background. I used a thin piece of cardboard that I painted with white gesso. I added another piece of cardboard on top. This piece was ripped and thicker. On top of that, I added a piece of paper from the vintage journal & ephemera paper collection and then brown sewing threads.

Next, I added some package filling and then the stamp on top. I cut out another piece from the vintage collection, that I added behind the stamp. Then, I created a mixture with pumice coarse medium, art stones, brown acrylic paint, and some water to thin it out. The mixture, I added here and there to the project. Next, I added a sentiment from the vintage collection at the top. Finally, I dry painted here and there with white gesso.
