Playing card with a stamped face

Hello everyone, it’s time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles We Love 2 Create.

Today, I’ve altered a playing card. I started by adding ripped pieces of paper to the card. I filled the whole card with those. Next, I added texture paste through the magical grasses stencil and also pieces of burlap. Then, I painted the card with white gesso and then colored it with ink sprays.

Then, I die-cut out rings with the basics circles die set and added those to the card. Next, I used multiple stamps from different stampset to create a face. The one’s I used, can you find down below in the products list. Then, I colored her with Copics alcohol markers and cut her out. I added her to the card.

After that, I decorated two edges with paper flowers and die-cut out green Super Sprigs, that also were added. Next, I colored in sand texture paste with ink spray, that I applied to the flowers and here and there on the card. I enhanced the paste with inka gold.

Finally, I stamp the sentiments from Weirdre just create on papers from Vintage journal & ephemera paper collection, and attached them to the card.

This, was a really fun project to work with. It was really fun to create the face, with different stamps. You should try it too!

Have a crafty day!

  1. OH MY GOSH! I absolutely LOVE this! You are so creative. First, before I forget, thank you for sharing at Crafting Happiness Challenges!! Second, I am in awe for many reasons. I love that you created a face with different stamps. That is genius! It looks so good. I bought 2 decks of playing cards last week at the Dollar Tree because I joined a FB group of people who alter them. I’ve never done it, and it’s way out of my skill set and comfort zone, but I want to learn how to do it. PLEASE continue to share you altered playing cards. Enjoy the rest of your day!
