Card with Weirdre Catch your own rainbow

Hello everyone.
It’s time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles We Love 2 Create. You can find the challenge here. This month I’ve made a card with Weirdre Catch your own rainbow. These are the products I used.

Today I’m going to share with you a step-by-step coloring, or at least how I did. I use Copics alcohol markers when I color. I used a paper from Color Copy.

I always start with the skin. I go from the darkest to the lightest color and I use a flicking technique. So here I went from E04, E11, E21, E00 to E000.

Then I usually, color the clothes. For this one, I used pink and purple colors. For the pink, I used RV09, RV19, and RV17. And for purple V17, V15, and then V04. Same here, from dark to light.

The wings I used light pink shades. In this case, RV21, R20, and RV02.

For her stockings, I used the same pens as the dress. And for the lips, I used E04 and R20.

For some fun, I colored her hair in purple colors. This is my favorite purple combination. I love how fun it became with purple hair.

For the rainbow, I used yellow, green, and blue. For the yellow, I used Y19, Y15, and Y11. For green G05, G03 and G12. And for blue, I used B16, B05, and B14.

And the heart is colored with the same pink as before.

Next, it was time to start making a card. So I used one of the stamps from the amazing textures stamp set, to stamp the edges of Weirdre. I used purple, and pink for another stamp inside.

Then I cut out three squares in different sizes that went bigger that the square with Weirdre.

The first one, I colored in with the stencil distressed trellis stencil with Distress ink Picked raspberry.

The second one, I colored in with the stencil heavenly circles with Distress ink Wilted violet.

The last one, I stamped with the Wings & things collage stamp set, also picked raspberry.

I layered them together with 3D foam pillows between them to a purple card base.

I needed a sentiment, so I stamped the sentiment that comes along with the Weirdre stamp set on a small rectangle. And then colored it in with the distressed trellis stencil. I attached it to the card with double-sided tape and 3D foam pillows.

Next, I started to bling the card with rhinestones in purple and pink.

Then I added stones from flower pots around the rhinestones.

Finally, I added some purple sewing thread here and there on the card.

And then my card was finished. Weirdre is one of my favorite characters. Don’t hesitate to get one of your own.

Really love how I placed the sewing thread to the card. It makes an interesting element to the project.

Have a crafty day!
