Canvas with Ula Be Strong

Hi and now it’s time for a new challenge over at We Love 2 Create. Come and join us in the challenge!

We Love to Create mixed media Challenge Blog...sponsored by Polkadoodles

This month, I’ve created a canvas with the fierce Ula Be strong. I colored her with Copics alcohol markers and cut her out by hand.

The canvas I added texture paste through the distressed trellis stencil and wired around it some sewing thread. I also attached white twine and flower pot stones. Here and there I added micro beads. I painted the canvas with white gesso before I started to color in the canvas with ink sprays. I used gray, black and a shimmer spray. I tried to mostly color in the middle, but at the top and bottom I added splats instead. I then added cheesecloth and then adhered Ula to the canvas. I wanted some more splats, so I did that, but I also added splats of white gesso (thinned with water). Finally, I stamped a title on the bottom of the canvas from the Reach high stamp set.

I absolutely love this canvas. I love all about it. I love my color choice, Ula, the splats and that I didn’t over decorate the canvas. What is your favorite part?

Have a crafty day!
